Principal RF Systems Engineer – Architecture & Signal Processing
BANC3, Inc., headquartered in Princeton, NJ, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer
responsible for the research, analysis, design and development of advanced radio frequency (RF) receiver
systems for spectrum monitoring, electronic warfare, and electronic intelligence missions. Work will
include RF system architecture design, RF component specification and selection, modeling of digital
signal processing algorithms using MATLAB, design systems featuring real-time digital signal processing in
Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices, development of automated test configurations, and
collection and processing of data to validate system performance. The candidate should have experience
with Radio Frequency (RF) systems covering up to 40 GHz. Professional experience should include
successful planning, coordinating, and executing systems integration projects with a diverse team of
scientists and engineers to achieve technology goals for defense applications.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze RF system requirements and develop detailed system specifications to meet or exceed all requirements
- Design and develop RF system architecture including antennas, cabling, receivers, processors, interfaces, and software applications
- Design and develop system level test procedures to verify and validate system performance
- Interact with customers to solicit information on system design, present detailed design, and assist in the test and evaluation of the system
- Develop detailed mathematical models of the RF system and use these models to accurately predict system performance
- Design and test digital signal processing algorithms in real-time systems using FPGAs
- Develop systems designs using real time, high speed digitizers for wide RF bandwidth applications
- Design and document system interfaces for RF, electrical, mechanical, and software
- Employ systems engineering best practices including systems requirements review (SRR), preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), test readiness review (TRR), factory acceptance testing (FAT), and system operational verification test (SOVT)
- Support proposal development by creating and documenting technical approaches for new projects
Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years professional experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable working in a small, multi-disciplinary technical team
- Small business experience is a plus
- BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
- Must be US citizen eligible to obtain DOD Security Clearance
